Sneaks and a Fun Hybrid Layout

Oh my!  The upcoming Jenni Bowlin Mercantile kits are wonderful and I've just created with a bit of it so far!  I a.dore the Antiquarian kit - sooo very pretty.  Here are a couple of sneaks:

Anybody else feel like life is spinning a bit and the focus is hard to get?  That's where I am and I'm hoping to get it all together this weekend!  Well ... it may take more than a weekend!

Like Nature Had a Party ...

I took a walk with the Shiner-Girl to our Secret Garden yesterday.  Everything has exploded in bloom.  The sounds were incredible, the smells were incredible, and we had it all to ourselves.

Shiner led the way as usual ...

We climbed to the top of the hill ...

and spent a lot of time in this magical place ...

... and when a breeze happened by, tiny leaves and tiny blooms would come floating down around us as if nature was having a party, just for us.

Takin' on the Challenge

Don't you just love challenges?  They certainly help me get things done.  There are some awesome challenges on the JBS forum right now ...

March/April Mixed Media - collage

and I so want to play with this challenge every month ... it' good to get out of your comfort zone ...

I had this journal from Creative Cafe ... remember them?  Danelle Johnson's wonderful line?

and I just messed around, trying some things out ...

and then there was a truly fun PacMan challenge where we created our own kit with rules - here's mine:

and we had to make one layout and 2 cards ...

 My cards ... those funky circles are the flip side of the dotted blue paper ...

and Rita started a turtle craze with the turtle paper in her kit, which grew to many making turtle-rific cards ... sort of a challenge within a challenge ...

yes ... my turtle legs are Scalloped Banner punches and the tail is part of the Blue Ribbon punch ...

And the PacMan challenge was for a prize - yep it was!  Not sure if there's a winner announced yet ...

Now I hear there's another fun arcade type challenge:  Donkey Kong - and a prize for this one too! We're talking a $25 gift card!  Oh yikers!  Come play with us!

The Quickest I've Ever Scrapped

I am the slowest ... slowest ... slowest scrapper this side of the Mississippi.  And it doesn't bother me to be slow - I actually enjoy taking my scrappy things slow.

But for some reason, everything came together quick ... like magic ... with my kit this month.  What was it? The colors of the kit?  The photos I had hanging around?  The frame embellies in the kit that go with anything?

I made 4 layouts and a mini ... in NO TIME ... and wanted to keep going .... but the day job's done me in ...

LOVE using an older photo ... I think I'm going to try and do this every month ...

I'm crazy for the JBS Silhouette cuts ...

I loved this layout, so I made a "twin" using an older photo of ds #2 ...

... i LOVED this chevron in the kit ... 

... I've got JBS punch love, too ...

 and a mini album that fits inside this great old book cover ...

the rub-ons + frames in the Artisan Add-On kit got me going ...

... and another layout for the Mercantile Gazette ... I'll hold off on blogging that for now ... but ya' ... I was a QUICK scrapper this month!

Oh that JBS Butterfly ...

Well I just couldn't resist using my Cameo for the first time to cut this beautiful butterfly ...

and beautiful it is!  Look at the detail!

This was made with the Jenni Bowlin Mercantile April kit .... gosh that kit (and the Artisan add-on) sold-out quickly!  You can still get other kits and extras on the Mercantile, though.  These papers ranked as my number one favorite!
