New Digi Kit = New Blog

I so fell in love with Jen Martakis' new digi kit:  Snowy Day .  So much so that I changed up my blog with some of the elements from the kit.

It's so easy to use digi kits to dress up your blog.  Many of Jen's products are perfect for this.  I used her frames for this one a while back:

{The little birdies are an American Crafts image that I altered}.

Every new release I have to stop myself from changing my blog again.  Changing up your blog can be a bit addicting, can't it?

Snowy Day has these sweet soft wintery images:

Besides using kits for your blog headers, Jen's frames can be used for sidebar headers:

and a pretty swirl or border can help indicate changes in subject matter on your blog like this:

soooo . . . now onto a different type of kit . . . the Jenni Bowlin Mercantile kit is revealed and goes on sale tonight.  There have been a few sneaks here and there . . . check out the Inspiration Blog .

I'm loving the kit.  I just can't post anything yet because I'm a very.slow.scrapper.  But I am making one of my favorite layouts with the kit right now.  I was inspired by Doris' layout here to use an older photo.  Ahhhh, such sweet memories!

and here's what's going on for giveaways and challenges with prizes at Jenni Bowlin:

May Arts Giveaway (deadline Friday)
JBS Inspiration Challenge (deadline Dec 5th)
JBS Red/Black Challenge (deadline Dec 12th)

Have a great day!  and thanks for visiting!

Maybe THIS Christmas . . .

. . .  I'll be organized!

I made myself this neat little list holder in hopes that it will make my holiday shopping easier . . .

It folds out like like an accordian with pockets on each panel . . .

I made my list holder with the Jenni Bowlin Mercantile November Project kit . . .

The gold foil star is from my stash. I made my receipt pocket expandable (with a couple of folds) because I may end up with a bunch of receipts . . .

I made a bunch of tags that go into each pocket . . .

A notebook clip serves to keep the book shut and in order when it's in my bag.  I tied a May Arts ribbon from my stash around the clip . . .

I have so many goodies left over from this project kit to make more projects or layouts with . . .  This kit has so much stuff!  If you check it out on the Mercantile website, you'll see what Jenni did with this same kit - such an adorable Hodge Podge Christmas album.

If you'd like to give something like what I made a try, I have a printable sheet of the tags here:

They are sized to fit 4.75 inch x 2.25 inch tags.

And here is a printable sheet of the pocket titles:

They are sized to fit the 4 inch JBS journaling spots.

And check out the Inspiration Blog for the current challenges with great prizes up for grabs!

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Berry Beautiful

I love fall and winter berries.  They add such a nice spark to a bare landscape.  Natures jewels.  They even catch my eye on the highway.  I've got to really concentrate this time of year on keeping my eye on the road!

These are from various places in and around town:

I'm sure some are technically seed heads and not berries.  If you're interested, this is what they are left to right:

1. Jack in the Pulpit
2. Viburnum
3. Pokeweed
4. Bittersweet
5. Porcelain berry

The Porcelain Berry was in-cred-i-ble.  I saw them while i was watching a fall baseball game.  They were climbing on a fence.  Unbelievable colors: purple, teal, all shades of blue.  Gorgeous!

Thankful for this New Digi Kit :)

Jen Martakis has created a lovely new digi kit for fall and Thanksgiving:  Thankful For

Love the colors and little hanging elements.  I've got lots of plans for this kit!

We've been spending a lot of time with family lately and I used the kit to create this layout for my boys:

Jen Martakis Thankful For digi kit; PSE shape (starburst) and basic brush

Using type as a mask for digital  pattern paper is one of my favorite digi techniques right now!  Love the look!

I was inspired to create this layout from a challenge issued for the Masterful Scrapbook Design Class this month on Details.  I'm amazed by the inspiration from the teachers on the site.  Amazed!

A Gorgeous Kit and a Reluctant Princess.

A kit full of red, black, cream, surprises, and one of a kind things:

You must see what the DT did!  Right here!

My sweet little pup is not a girly-girl.  No way. No how.  But not having any girls of my own, I'm so tempted to dress my sweetness up - just a little - once in a while.  And since it's Hallowe'en, what a better time than now.

I didn't spend a whole lot of time on this. I knew it would be torn to bits in a sec:

She wouldn't even look at the camera!  Oh how she hated this!

And soooo excited to see the new lineup for the Masterful Scrapbook Design series for November!  Learning Details with Jenni Bowlin, Doris Sander, Kayleigh Wiles, and Tanis Willis.  The two monthly classes I've taken so far have been IN-credible.  I've learned so much!  Cannot WAIT for Details!!!

Have a great day!
